Recently word has been spreading that Windows XP Service Pack 3 is coming out, however, for the time being, it is only available to beta testers. Until now that was true but there is a way to download it through the Microsoft Website. There are alternatives, such as downloading it from rapidshare or other sites , however these alternatives aren’t as safe as downloading it from Microsoft themselves.

To get SP3 you must download this file. Once you download this file and run it you just update your computer and SP3 will be available. Note when updating your computer Click Custom Rather then Express and manually choose it. To update your computer go ot Update.Microsoft.com

However, instead of wasting your time and scanning it with the one virus scanner on your computer, you can have the file scanned by multiple anti-virus engines. When people want free music they usually turn to lime-wire or another p2p program; however, these programs can be filled with viruses and spy-ware. There are safer alternatives to finding almost any song you like. A well known method is to use google. With Google you place the song name or band into the search string then search. With this method you are using Google to search for music on different servers.

The second method for finding free music is from a program called clickster. This program is straight foward and has many features. You not only have access to millions of songs but you can also download music from myspace and shout-cast.

The last method would be to use Seeqpod which is a song indexing site. You can not only discover new music but download it as well. Place a song into the search box, after a few seconds the list will become populated. You can scroll over the song and see a link where the song is being stored. Type that URL into your browser and voila free music.

So instead of downloading the updates hundreds of times you only need to do it once. Unfortunately Microsoft put an end to the production of it but you are still able to download the most recent version (August 2007) which in the end will still save you some time after formatting a computer.
