If you’re a big fan of Portal like I am then you must be looking for more after you beat the game. Well look no further because I have found a site that is gathering fan based custom maps that is free for anyone to use. Right now the site has less then 100 maps however they are growing. If you like developing maps, they have an option to upload them to the site so others may play it. I have downloaded a few of those maps and I must say they are quite enjoyable.

Also, for those who don’t have Portal, you can play the flash version of the game here.

And if you want to download custom maps for the Valve version go here.

For some reason Microsoft made the standard Office 2007 Word documents .Docx. There are 2 ways to correct this issue. You can download Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint 2007 File Formats. That can be found here.

The alternative to this is to avoid saving files in .Docx. To do this Open Office 2007 and go to File –Save As- then choose Save As type: 97-2003. By doing doing this, you are now able to open 2007 documents in office 2003 and 2000.

If you are a big fan of instant messaging but grow tired of having the software bloated with ads and other useless features then AIM ET is the perfect solution. Aim ET hogs little of your resources in comparison to AIM and it is completely ad free. Aim ET is made by AOL so you can safely assume that this is a safe application. Aim ET has a simple interface yet still provides the user the same experience as if he or she was using AIM.

Earlier I posted on how to reset the password for Windows XP, but what if you just want to know the password? There is one program that can crack the windows password without even logging into the operating system. “Ophcrack is a Windows password cracker based on a time-memory trade-off using rainbow tables. This is a new variant of Hellman’s original trade-off, with better performance. It recovers 99.9% of alphanumeric passwords in seconds. ”

I’ve tried this CD myself and it works like a charm. First you must download the Ophcrack ISO here. After you download it, burn the ISO to a CD using any program that can do so. After you burned it to a CD, boot to the CD and follow any onscreen steps if any should arise. After that a window will open up on the Linux OS. Lets the computer figure out the password and you’re done. The CD cannot crack passwords with special characters like !@#$%^&*() and it can only crack passwords that are shorter than 14 characters.

In addition to your WiFi detecting shirt, your geek ensemble isn’t complete without a stainless steel wallet.

“You might think that steel would be hard on your jeans pocket, but in fact these wallets have the texture of silk and are woven from micro fibers of stainless steel. When you touch the silky metallic surface you’ll think they were created by sophisticated nanobots… and almost nothing is more geeky than nanobots.”

I honestly want to get a wallet made out of Stainless Steel however most people would get discouraged to buy one with the hefty price tag of 79 USD.

This is honestly one of the coolest things I have ever seen put on a shirt.

”But now thanks to the ingenious ThinkGeek robot monkeys you can display the current wi-fi signal strength to yourself and everyone around you with this stylish Wi-Fi Detector Shirt. The glowing bars on the front of the shirt dynamically change as the surrounding wi-fi signal strength fluctuates. Finally you can get the attention you deserve as others bow to you as their reverential wi-fi god, while geeky chicks swoon at your presence. You can thank us later. ” -ThinkGeek

This shirt can detect 802.11B and 802.11G signals. The power of the shirt is supplied by 2 small batteries that are sewn to the inside of the shirt. The only downside to this shirt is that you have to follow a series of steps to wash the shirt.

You can find the shirt at ThinkGeek.com
